John Wall's knowledge on the fencing
industry comes naturally. John was born and raised on a farm in New Zealand,
and it was in his native land where he began working as a fencing contractor
and large herd manager. In 1969, he moved to Pennsylvania, founded a fence
company and promoted smooth wire fence technology throughout North America.
Through a partnership with US Steel (fence wire) and Koppers Company (treated
posts), John's company grew rapidly selling through distributors and training
fence contractors throughout North America.
John became aware that one of the problems
with continuous horse rail fence has been the "waviness" that occurs once
the fence is installed. These waves, also known as ripples, are caused
by improper installation. Weak or questionable attachment methods can
cause the rail to break when pressure is applied to the rail and injury
to the horse and rider may result. Waves and inadequate attachments lessen
the durability and strength of the fence and detract from its attractiveness.
Using new technologies, John Wall Inc.
developed rail fence that stays flat, smooth and straight as a board.
JWI has also developed superior attachment methods that successfully hold
the fence in place while lessening the chance of injury for horse and
rider. JWI technologies and simplified installation methods combine to
offer distributors, installers and owners the safest, most reliable fencing
product.
With the creation of Horserail in 1990, John
began combining his knowledge with modern technologies. The result is
a fence rail system like no other. A system that is safe, affordable,
durable and attractive. John has built his fences in 44 states and at
48 universities and land grant colleges. He has been an instructor at
the American Fence Association in Field Training School in Waco, Texas,
for 15 years. With over 40 years of experience, John is in constant demand
as an advisor and consultant.
John and his staff continue to experiment
and develop new products and installation techniques. The
company is based in Carmichaels, PA. These products are sold
through distributors throughout North America. Terry and
Simon Wall, John's brothers, are distributors for
international sales.
